Mathematics
At Black Hill Primary School, we believe that Mathematics is an integral part of our daily lives. We present a range of Maths programs that aim to develop our students into numerate, risk taking, problem solving learners.
English
At Black Hill we foster a love of literature and pride ourselves on an English Program which supports students to achieve personal success in their learning across Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Word Study.
Students are supported to learn from mentor texts so that they can see English at its best and use these techniques in their own reading, writing and oral language.

Digital Technologies
Black Hill Primary school embraces the use of Digital Technologies to foster students’ creativity, critical thinking and communication.
We use a variety of devices and modes to support all areas of our curriculum and aim to build safe and responsible ‘digital citizens’ in our school.
There is no specifically dedicated time to Digital Technologies as it is integrated into other curriculum areas in a classroom context.

Students have opportunities to engage in drawing, painting, threads and textiles, modelling, construction, printing, collage and mixed media. Health & Physical Education
The Physical Education program at Black Hill Primary School aims to inspire students to be involved in physical activities that develop both individual and team skills, as well as promote healthy attitudes and habits.
A key learning area in Physical Education is the development, understanding and application of the Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) including run, leap, throw, catch, kick, strike, punt, vertical jump, dodge and bounce.
In the early years these FMS are broken down into stages, and drills are used to teach correct technique, in the later years these skills are refined through application under pressure in sport specific games and activities.
