Black Hill Primary school embraces the use of Digital Technologies to foster students’ creativity, critical thinking and communication. We use a variety of devices and modes to support all areas of our curriculum and aim to build safe and responsible ‘digital citizens’ in our school. There is no specifically dedicated time to Digital Technologies as it is integrated into other curriculum areas in a classroom context.
In 2016, we introduced a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) iPad program for years 3-6 and continue to review and update this program annually.
We also have access to iPads for small group work in the P-2 classrooms, and a full class set of Chromebooks are available for use in our Maker’s Space to further develop students’ skills and expose them to a variety of digital systems.
Large screen tv’s are utilised in every classroom, enabling interactive instruction and the development of independence and student led activities.
