Our Community, Working together to achieve...

Welcome to the BYOD information page for Black Hill Primary School.

As we work in partnership with you in the education of your child/ren, it is our aim to keep up to date with our plans for improving our students’ learning via the implementation of our BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program. We strongly believe that updating and redefining the way technology is used at Black Hill Primary School to benefit our students’ learning outcomes, is of vital importance.
The focus of the BYOD program at Black Hill Primary School is to provide appropriate tools and resources to the students. Excellence in education requires that technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the educational program. Increasing access to technology is essential for the future, and one of the best learning tools for these students is the iPad. The individual use of iPads is a way to empower students to maximise their full potential and to prepare them for further studies and future education leading into the workplace.

Years 3 to 6 students are part of our BYOD initiative. 32 gigabyte is the minimum requirement, however if you have any plans to use the iPad for anything besides school apps, our strong recommendation is to buy an iPad with more storage. We also recommend a full size iPad rather than a mini, as some of our on-line testing platforms are not compatible with iPad Minis.
