Welcome to the BYOD information
page for Black Hill Primary School.
As we work in
partnership with you in the education of your child/ren, it is our aim to
keep up to date with our plans for improving our students’ learning
via the implementation of our BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program. We
strongly believe that updating and redefining the way technology is used
at Black Hill Primary School to benefit our students’ learning outcomes, is of
vital importance.
The focus of the BYOD program at Black Hill Primary School is to provide tools
and resources to the 21st Century Learner. Excellence in education requires
that technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the educational program.
Increasing access to technology is essential for the future, and one of the
learning tools of these 21st Century students is the iPad. The individual use
of iPads is a way to empower students to maximise their full potential and to
prepare them for further studies and future
education leading into the workplace.
In 2017, Years 3 to 6 students will
be part of our BYOD initiative.
MyMac Parent Portal - purchasing or lease to buy.
32 gigabyte is the minimum requirement, however if you have any plans to use the iPad for anything besides school apps, our strong recommendation is to buy an iPad with more storage. iPads may be purchased anywhere. However, you may access the MyMac Black Hill BYOD Parent Portal, which offers a range of iPads and covers at educational prices. Finance can be organised through Zip Money, www.zipmoney.com.au. If parents simply click on the “contact us” tab. MyMac can work with you directly regarding finance and any other requests you may have. Go to www.mymacedu.com.au Enter the username blackhill and password sherrard.
More documents will be added to this page regularly - please keep checking in for further information. In addition, the FAQ document will be regularly updated.
